Yankees Always Dangerous
One of the things that makes coming to New York so special is the tradition and history you get at Yankee Stadium. The first time I ever came here I got to the stadium early and walked through Monument Park. I stopped and read every one of them and soaked it in. It was really cool. Even though I'm a little more used to it's still cool to feel the history. It will never lose that.
I pitch tomorrow and need to throw better than I did in Detroit. I just didn't have my stuff but the guys did a great job behind me. They won the game for me. Don't get me wrong, I'll take it but I didn't pitch very well. The Yankees have a very tough lineup. There are no breaks in it. Usually on most teams there are one or two in the lineup where you expect to get outs. That isn't the case with the Yankees. You have to pitch well 1 through 9 and they really make the pitchers work. They take a lot of pitches and try to work the count so that they get to the bullpen. It just means you need to get ahead in the count as often as possible. They have been struggling but I can't see it lasting all year. There are too many good players here. They'll make their run and get close by the end.
